There's no place like home. Home is my haven. It is the place I can always go, and it is the place I always wish to stay.
We're moving! Not too far, actually, not far at all (still in Long Beach!). The new place is only a 4 minute walk away, less than a quarter of a mile. I've been promising a houseplant tour, but since we're moving, this might be my last chance of showing off some of our interior stylings here.
There's a swirl of sadness and excitement when it comes to moving. On one hand, I look forward to redecorating a new environment. But, I'm really going to miss a lot about my current apartment.
I'll especially miss having tea at the front window, living amongst the giants, watching wild(urban)life feasting on the nectar of those ginormous flowers. I imagine these impressive trees were just babes when this building was built (1963!)
I'll miss seeing, from my perch, the green roof of the Villa Riviera glowing in the night sky. I'll miss hearing the fog horns at 4am. I'll miss living *on* Ocean blvd. and the excitement of parades and marathons happening right at our front gate. I'll miss the loud zooms of the grand prix, and listening to my favorite bands play live concerts from my bedroom window. Our new home is only a street over, but will we get the same benefits? I can only dream...
I moved into Chuck's apartment shortly after we first began dating. He's obsessed with the color green, I'm obsessed with plants, and so our style is a perfect match!

I'm just sentimental about the place that I live... Before I completely leave, I will say goodbye to every tree that I've watched grow alongside me. I'll ask the same birds to visit me. I will collect pieces of some of what grows here, like the clover and ivy, to remember them. I will soak it all in. And then I will go.
Hello, and goodbye!
